By using Rento, you agree to the terms below. Please read carefully.
1. Service Scope
Rento is a neutral third-party escrow platform designed to safely hold and release rental security deposits between tenants, landlords, and brokers. We act as a facilitator, not an arbitrator or property agent.
2. Deposit Process
• All deposits must be made to Rento’s official current account.
• Funds are held securely until completion of the rental term or mutual agreement for early release.
• Rento only releases funds after verification based on agreement terms and both parties’ input.
3. Refund Eligibility & Notice Period
• Tenants must give at least 15 days’ written notice before vacating the property to be eligible for a full security refund.
• Entry and exit videos (or timestamped photos) must be submitted by the tenant to document property condition. This helps ensure a fair and transparent process.
4. Refund Timeline
• Once refund is initiated and verified, Rento will release the deposit within 15 working days.
• Delays due to document issues or disputes may require additional time and both parties’ cooperation.
5. Landlord Loss Coverage
• In case of property damage, unpaid rent, or unpaid utility bills, the landlord can claim losses up to the amount of the security deposit.
• Supporting proof (bills, video, photos, agreement clauses) must be submitted to Rento before any deduction is approved.
6. Dispute Handling
• Rento is not an arbitrator. If a dispute arises, both parties must cooperate in good faith or seek third-party legal resolution.
• Rento may delay refund if key conditions (notice, video, agreement terms) are not fulfilled.
7. Charges & Pricing
• Rento’s escrow service is currently free of charge. We may introduce paid features later, with advance notice.
8. Limited Liability
• Rento is not responsible for the behavior of any party, misuse of the property, or misrepresentation.
• Our liability is limited to securely handling and disbursing the deposit as per agreed conditions.
9. Data Privacy
We collect minimal data required for the escrow process. We do not sell or misuse user information. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
10. Updates to Terms
We may revise these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of Rento implies acceptance of updated terms.
